The Anna Maria Island Butterfly Park was created in 1999. The park was the brainchild of Connie Hodgson of Bradenton and Nancy Ambrose an island resident and lover of butterflies.  A special thanks to the city of Holmes Beach for their support and providing use of city lands for the park.
